Browser or server: your right to privacy
PDFbae.com cares about your rights and privacy online. That's why we offer both Browser Mode and Server Mode for converting your images to PDF.
In browser mode, your images are combined and shrunk directly on your device — nothing is uploaded anywhere. In server mode, your images are uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed on our server, and the resulting PDF is made available for download.
Two situations always use server mode, regardless of which option you select: images added by pasting a URL (since the file is fetched by our server before you can work with it), and formats your browser can't render natively, such as HEIC, HEIF, TIFF, and AVIF.
When to choose browser mode?
- Your photos are personal, confidential, or otherwise not something you want to upload online.
- You want your files to stay entirely on your device while you work with them.
- Your device has enough memory to handle the images comfortably.
- You don't need to share a server-hosted result with someone else.
When to choose server mode?
- Your device has limited memory or processing power, or you're using an older device.
- You're combining many large photos and want the workload handled by our server instead.
- You want to download the finished PDF on another device, such as opening it on your phone after starting on a computer.
- You want to share the finished PDF with someone else using its result link or a QR code.
How we protect your privacy
- Files uploaded for server-side processing are automatically deleted within 24 hours.
- Processed files are stored on secure Cloudflare servers.
- You can delete your processed file immediately after downloading it, rather than waiting for automatic deletion.
- No account or email address is ever required to use this tool.
