Browser or Server Mode: Your Right to Privacy
PDFbae.com cares about your rights and privacy online. That's why we offer both Browser Mode and Server Mode for organizing PDF documents.
In browser mode, your file never leaves your device — every rotation, deletion, and reorder happens locally in your browser, and nothing is uploaded anywhere. In server mode, your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed on our server, and the result is made available for download.
Two situations always use server mode, regardless of which option you select:
- Password-protected PDFs.
- PDFs added by URL.
When to Choose Browser Mode?
- Your PDF contains confidential, personal, financial, business, or other sensitive information that you don't want to upload online.
- You want your file to stay entirely on your device while you work with it.
- Your device has available storage and memory to handle the PDF comfortably.
- You are using pdfbae.com in modern mobiles and computers.
- You don't need to upload the file or share a server-hosted result with someone else.
When to Choose Server Mode?
- Your device has limited memory, storage, or processing power, or you're using an older device.
- You're working with a large or complex PDF and want the processing workload handled by our server instead of your device.
- You want to keep using your device without putting as much processing load on it.
- You want to download the processed PDF on another device, such as opening the result on your phone after processing it on a computer.
- You want to share the processed PDF with someone else using its result link or a QR code.
File size and usage limits
- Maximum file size that we allow is 300 MB.
- Larger PDF files may be slower to process in browser mode, depending on your device storage and available memory. So you can allow them to process on server, that is the reason why large files requires processing on server.
- Up to 50 server-side uploads per day, per user.
How we protect your privacy
- All uploaded and processed files are deleted after 24 Hours.
- Passwords for locked PDFs are required only to unlock and process your file on server.
- Processed files are uploaded in secure cloudflare servers.
- You can delete your processed file immediately after downloading it, rather than waiting for automatic deletion.
